BURTON RSPB-BONAPARTES GULL 23/05/2021 AND GLOSSY IBIS 26/05/2021

A busy few days at Burton RSPB saw me visit there twice over the last few days.My second Bonaparte's Gull for Cheshire and Wirral was found which was a smart 1st summer bird which showed really well and then a couple of days later a Glossy Ibis was found.This bird gave me the run around but I managed to see it on the ground and in flight.

Western Osprey-West over-Mollington
Lesser Whitethroat - Leasowe Lighthouse.
Common Crane dropped down on to marsh off Burton Point, also 2 Short-eared Owl,Hobby,Marsh Harrier,2 Avocet and 3 Spoonbill flying N.

Collared Pratincole flew east over coastal paddocks at 08.10am,not yet relocated by 10am, also Grasshopper Warbler and a Tree Pipit - 
Leasowe Lighthouse.

Cetti's Warbler - Gilroy Nature Park, West Kirby.
49 Whimbrel,123 Curlew,108 Oystercatcher and 38 Little Egret, also 68 Carrion Crow on the sand flats presumably after crabs - Heswall/Thurstaston Shore.

A mirror like sea at high tide produced just 20 Common Scoter,10 Great Crested Grebe and 3 Gannet sitting on the sea -

Ring Necked Duck-Drake at Big Pool with Tufted Duck flock this afternoon; also Smew still. Park carefully along Noviascotia Lane and walk along main track; keep away from fisherman's pegs

Hoopoe on municipal Golf Course (next to cycle track which runs between Hoylake Station and West Kirby, has also flown over the railway track to Drummond Road a couple of times this morning), also a Ring Ouzel (male) on golf course early morning - Hoylake.

49 Whimbrel on early morning tide, also 95 Grey Plover-Heswall Shore.
Grasshopper Warbler (Kerr's Field),2 Whinchat,3 Swift and a Cuckoo-Leasowe Lighthouse.
3 Cattle Egret in field and a Wood Warbler at Puddington 'dip'.
Highlights include a Cuckoo,Bittern and a Grasshopper Warbler-Burton Mere Wetlands.

May 4th
Whinchat-Male in flooded horse paddock opposite former Fiddle I’th Bagg pub, Old Alder Lane-Winwick
2 Arctic tern and 2 Turnstone-Flew though-Sandbach Flashes
Whimbrel-Flew west over N03 bed-Woolston Eyes
Ring Ouzel-Male flew east over Dairy House Farm viewed from Winsford Flash
Arctic Tern (sat on mud with waders),Kittiwake (over the main Dee channel),23 common Tern,27 Whimbrel, 230 Grey Plover,3,500 Dunlin and 1,000 Knot - Heswall Shore.
