While travelling to Oxfordshire this morning, I made a short but worthwhile stop at RSPB Middleton Lakes to look for a Temminck’s Stint, a scarce wader discovered a few days earlier by my good friend Tony Disley.
After a brief wait, I was able to connect with the bird and enjoy satisfying views. Always a subtle and understated species, Temminck’s Stint is never guaranteed, and it was a pleasure to catch up with it before continuing my journey.
