PIED WHEATEAR 1ST FOR CHESHIRE AND WIRRAL

News came out last night that birder Richard Ashcroft had photographed a Pied wheatear on the east end of meols promenade.This was a first for Cheshire and Wirral and one hell of a find and apparently it was also seen the previous afternoon.I went into work and was full of apprehension that bird would still be around in the morning.I managed an early dart off my night shift and thankfully when I was driving up the M53 Allan conlin put the news out that the bird was still there.

On arrival all the usual faces were present and the bird was showing really well on the promenade wall.
