FIRST FOR CHESHIRE AND WIRRAL-WESTERN SANDPIPER

Congratulations to my good friend Allan Conlin, who discovered Cheshire and Wirral’s first Western Sandpiper at Hoylake and Meols between 19th–24th September 2012. This incredible find not only marked a county first but also represents the 9th record of this species for Britain—a truly remarkable achievement.

Well done, Allan! A discovery like this is a testament to skill, patience, and a keen eye in the field.
