ACRE NOOK AND LAPWING HALL POOL-JUNE BIRD SIGHTINGS

Acre Nook Sightings
A quiet start this month around the patch, but I was rewarded on the 7th with 8 Mandarin ducks, which only stayed a few minutes before flying north. Lapwing numbers are increasing every day, with 47 counted on the 8th. Only 6 Shelduck remain with their broods.

A juvenile Carrion Crow was by the path on the 5th.

The male Tree Sparrow is now showing on each visit.

A Yellowhammer could be heard on the 6th, and the Wigeon is still present on the 7th.

Canada goose numbers reached 32 on the 6th, and four Little grebes were present.

The weather has been beautiful this week in Cheshire, and the patch is full of colour.

The fields around the Lapwing Hall pool are full of Buttercups

Rhododendrons are now in full bloom on the Mosses
