WHITE FACED DARTER-PRIVATE SITE-CHESHIRE

This morning, I joined Andrew Goodwin to visit a private site in Cheshire in search of the elusive White-faced Darter dragonfly. Our efforts were immediately rewarded when a male landed in the bracken right before us, offering an incredible view. Later, in another part of the site, we were delighted to find five more males and a single female, making for a memorable morning of observations.

We were lucky enough to witness two of the White-faced darters forming a copulatory wheel, which perched nearby, allowing us to observe them closely.

It was a fantastic morning, and it was particularly rewarding to see this small population thriving in our county.
