MALE SMEW AT LAST!

I spent this morning at Crosby Marina in Liverpool, where a male Smew was visible. It's been years since I last saw a male bird.

After leaving, I stopped by New Brighton, but unfortunately, there was no sight of the male Black Redstart. However, I did enjoy great views of six Purple Sandpipers roosting on the pontoon alongside Redshanks, Dunlins, and Turnstones.

On the way home, I stopped at Arrowe Park near Birkenhead, where I connected with fifteen Mandarin.
