CATTLE EGRET-BURTON RSPB

I had just got up this afternoon after a night duty when Allan Conlin texted me to say a Cattle Egret had been found at Burton RSPB. I soon made my way there as I only live 15 minutes away, and made my way to the old Inner Marsh farm hide. The Cattle egret was quickly picked up, weaving in and out of the sheep on the far side of the pool.

I just made it to the hide before the heavens opened. Other birds of note were 7 Curlew sandpiper,16 Dunlin, but there was no sign of the Little stint.

A good afternoon's birding and another Cattle Egret for Burton RSPB, my third for the reserve.
