PURPLE HERON-GIFFORDS FLOOD-SHELLY-SUFFOLK

I called in today because I've only seen four Purple Herons in Britain and I was fortunate to see the bird as soon as I got there.

Although there have been four records in the last 20 years, none of them has been twitchable and has flown away, so this was a pleasant bird to catch up with and it performed admirably. This bird is long overdue in Cheshire and Wirral.
